Celebrating 10 years of Dulcie's at the Garden of Unearthly Delights

Posted by Hutt St Centre on 2022-03-18

It’s the final weekend of Adelaide Fringe which means it’s your last chance to visit Dulcie's Shop of Real Opportunity in The Garden of Unearthly Delights for another year.

Dulcie’s is the brainchild of our longtime friend and Ambassador, Amanda Blair, who launched this mobile vintage fashion icon ten years ago!

Amanda says:

“Back then it was a project I thought I’d do for only a few weeks to raise some money for Hutt St Centre and Centacare – one season in The Garden of Unearthly Delights.

And yet here we are, 10 years on. The project has evolved, we now have the shop and we see a future for us in banging the drum about landfill, fast fashion and recycling. We say we’re saving the planet one frock at a time…

Together, we have fun. We love our Dulcie and look forward to another 10 glorious years together. Thank you to all the customers and donors. You make it happen. Come visit us at the shop or the bus. We’d love to say thank you in person.”

But if you miss the bus this weekend, you can still get your vintage fix and help provide opportunities for people doing it tough by visiting the store at 326 Grange Road, Kidman Park. They’re open Wed-Sat, 10am-5pm.

Participants in our Aged City Living (ACL) program popped into Dulcie’s earlier this week as part of their op-shop tour. The ACL program provides social activities for older people who are vulnerable to social isolation.

A big thank you to Amanda, Britt and the fabulous Dulcie's Dames for welcoming our clients and sharing this gorgeous photo on their socials.
