Health and happiness made possible by you

Seeking healthcare can be a stressful experience, especially for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. But thanks to your kindness, at Hutt St Centre, more than 20 visiting services enable people to improve their health and wellbeing in a safe and welcoming environment.

These services make a world of difference for people who may not have the resources or confidence to access medical care on their own.  Providing more than 370 healthcare visits each month, our onsite Royal District Nursing Service and GP clinics offer primary care, vaccinations and referrals to allied health services.

Recently, Hearing Australia provided free hearing screenings and referrals for more than a dozen people like Jeremy*, who was grateful for the chance to have his hearing tested for the first time.

Throughout July and August, Hutt St Centre also hosted a team from SA Ambulance Service for a series of mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics. More than 130 doses of the Pfizer vaccine were provided to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Some clients, like Anthea*, said they felt nervous before their jab but were relieved to be vaccinated. “I came in today especially to get my vaccine,” she shared.

“I was pretty anxious earlier but people have been very kind. Thank you for making me feel welcome.”

Thanks to you and our community, our doors remain open. Providing these free services at Hutt St Centre enables people like Anthea to access the help they need, surrounded by those they know and trust.

Your kindness gives so many people the chance to be healthy and happy on their journey out of homelessness. Thank you.
