Wings That Work

Posted by Hutt St Centre on 2015-12-15

Can you imagine crying when offered your first paid job? Well this was the reaction of one of our clients, Lucinda, when GOGO Events recently employed five women from our Pathways program in casual work.

Along with five other women from The Big Issue, they were employed to make 50 sets of fairy wings for the Adelaide Food Awards. They gathered at Adelaide College of the Arts in Light Square and with feathers, fur, glitter and glue they set about their task.

The women were thrilled with the work and enjoyed making new friends and connections for future opportunities. The GOGO Events team have since offered more casual work to clients.

Partnerships like this are invaluable for us, reward for all parties, and achieve long term outcomes to end homelessness.
