Creativity and community made possible by you
Over the past year, many people have come to appreciate the importance of community – and this is especially true for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
Thanks to your support, Hutt St Centre’s Creative Hub is a wonderful space where people can come together, express their creativity, and connect with one another.
Robert is a talented artist who’s found a welcoming place here. He discovered the creative program last year, when he was visited Hutt St Centre for a healthy meal – but found so much more. He says:
“When I came to Hutt St, it was mainly for meals, but now I come to see friends and spend time painting in the Creative Hub too. It’s a very special place to me and many of my friends.”
Robert shared his talents with our community to paint a pair of boots celebrating our 2021 Walk a Mile in My Boots Challenge. Since then, his artistic career has flourished with opportunities for exhibitions and commissioned work.
“It’s fabulous that you give us all an opportunity to be creative in this place,” Robert says. “The people at Hutt St Centre are amazing – thank you for keeping it all going.”
