Hutt St Centre

Your heart-warming response to Geoffrey's story

Before Christmas, we introduced you to Geoffrey*.

Geoffrey ran away from an abusive step-father when he was just 13, and has since experienced a life-time of loss, heartbreak and abandonment.

He came to Hutt St Centre for a hot meal, and after taking part in our program, came away with a home, a job and a whole new chance at life.

In our Christmas letter, we asked you to help Geoffrey and the hundreds of people like him who come to Hutt St Centre in desperate need of support.

We asked you to help Geoffrey and the hundreds of people like him who come to Hutt St Centre in desperate need of support.

Your response was heart-warming. Funds raised are already being used to help people facing extreme hardships to rebuild their lives today.

Thanks to your support, Geoffrey now has his own place to live, and has been there for over a year - the first time he's ever had a place to call his own for that long. What's more, he has a full-time job, and recently bought his own car with the money he'd saved from his job.

This remarkable turnaround is a credit to Geoffrey's resilience, but also to your generous support that allows us to run impactful programs to help Geoffrey and thousands of others.

Thank you for helping vulnerable people, and giving them your generous care and support.

"I went to Hutt St and they gave me awesome food and blankets, and I just knew this was my chance. I’d never asked for anything, but I knew I needed help and they welcomed me with open arms.” Geoffrey
