Thank you for helping Luke rebuild his life
When Luke* came to us at Hutt St Centre, he was living out of his car, desperately wanting to work but unable to find a job.
“Sleeping in my car is pretty uncomfortable,” explains Luke. “In winter I’ll put the heater on and hope to get to sleep – but there’s no guarantee. I end up feeling really average. The longer I sleep in my car, the harder it gets.”
But now, thanks to your support, we’ve been able to give Luke the opportunity he needed to rebuild his life.
“I get up, walk to Hutt St Centre for a shower, a hot cup of coffee, and a hot breakfast. That’s my ‘wake up, I’m alive, I’m still here, and now I’m planning my day’. I like to keep my presentation neat, so being able to have a shower, shave, and wash my clothes at Hutt St Centre is really important to me.”
Late last year Luke came to us with great news; he accepted a job! For the last six months Luke has been working for a delivery and removals company, and he is absolutely loving it. Thank you for allowing us to help people like Luke rebuild their lives.
