Thankyou to all who participated this year in"walk a mile in my boots" .
The sight of more than 2,000 people walking past Hutt Street Centre on Friday 5th August, was very heartwarming for those people who seek support from the centre every day. Many homeless people joined the walk, others volunteered to set up the start or helped at the finish line, while another group cheered walkers as they passed by the Centre.
“It makes you feel more positive just knowing that so many people care about us and want to help find solutions to homelessness,” said Rob. “We know that the people who are walking a mile in our boots had to get out of bed a bit earlier and are willing to experience the cold like we do every morning. We thank them for doing that and for helping Hutt Street Centre”
We sincerely appreciate the effort made by all the walkers and the generosity of all those who sponsored a walker or made a donation to Hutt Street Centre for walk a mile in my boots. We hope that everyone who walked this year will bring a friend to double the numbers next year.
