Housing and Support Services

The Hutt Street Centre provides a social work service, which includes:
   
The Eastern Generic Homelessness Service (EGHS) which is a gateway service for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness living in the eastern region of Adelaide.  The service offers people assistance to:

  •  Find housing
  • Maintain their housing
  • Be as self reliant as possible
  • Access and be part of the wider community
  •  Move out of homelessness


The EGHS staff have particular expertise in:

  • Housing issues and housing support including boarding house accommodation
  • Assessing needs
  • Community resources
  • Working with a vulnerable population with issues of mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, social isolation, damaged and unhealthy relationships, unemployment, poverty and chronic illness
  • Referring to and linking into community services


Home and Community Care Programs

The Aged City Living and the Home Support programs provides a comprehensive case management and support service to older people who have experienced homelessness living in or near the Eastern Region of Adelaide.

Referrals to the EGHS and HACC programs can be made in person by either coming in to the centre at 258 Hutt Street, Adelaide or call 8418 2500 or email  us
